As the war in Ukraine continues to escalate, the situation on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, saw numerous developments in fighting and political diplomacy.

In terms of international diplomacy, Switzerland’s President Viola Amherd urged for a revision of a ban preventing Swiss-made arms from being re-exported to Ukraine, citing the impact on her country’s industry and security. The United Kingdom imposed sanctions on Russian public relations agencies for attempting to undermine and destabilize Ukraine’s democracy.

Overall, the situation in Ukraine remains dire, with continued fighting and political tensions as international actors become increasingly involved in the conflict.
