Kukui Grove Center is set to host the highly anticipated Dad’s Day Car Show, organized by Harvey Maeda and Kauai Classic Cars, celebrating 19 years of showcasing classic cars, hot rods, and automotive enthusiasm. The event, part of a series of Father’s Day festivities, will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, providing car enthusiasts an opportunity to appreciate vintage vehicles and connect with their owners.
“Visitors can appreciate the cars after enjoying the King’s Parade and Ho‘olaule‘a, which begins at 9 a.m.,” Maeda stated, illustrating the day’s vibrant schedule.
Complementing the car show, Deja Vu Surf Hawaii will host a sidewalk sale on Friday and Saturday, featuring discounts and special offers ideal for Father’s Day gifts. On Sunday, the store will participate in a fashion show during the Miss Kauai Filipina cultural event, which previews the June 21 pageant at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall.
The pageant, organized by the Miss Kauai Filipina Scholarship Pageant Committee under the Kauai Filipino Community Council, will spotlight contestants as they model Deja Vu fashions and engage with the public. Ticket sales from contestants are crucial, as they form part of the judging criteria.
Sunday promises to be lively, featuring Father’s Day Jazz at 11:30 a.m. leading up to the cultural festival. The Bailes de Jose Filipino dance troupe will perform traditional dances, and DJ Rick Rasay will energize the crowd alongside Cruz Control.
