Kapaa High School Baseball Team Shines as KIF Champions and All-Star Selections Announced

LIHUE — The Kapaa High School baseball team has earned the title of 2025 Central Pacific Bank Kauai Interscholastic Federation (KIF) Champions after an epic 19-inning showdown against Kauai High School that unfolded over two days. In celebration of their remarkable season, six players and their coach were honored on the KIF Baseball All-Star roster released on Tuesday.

Following their triumph over Waimea High School in a playoff game, the Warriors advanced to the state tournament, where they secured a commendable second place after falling to Damien Memorial High School in the championship match.

Highlighting their outstanding achievements, coach Duke Sardinha was named Coach of the Year, while Kapaa sophomore Kimo Kupihea received the prestigious Player of the Year award.

The KIF Baseball All-Star selections include:

  • Infield: Kaitin Mundon (Kap, Gr. 10), Paoa Itamura (Kau, Gr. 11), Noah Ibaan (Kau, Gr. 12)
  • Outfield: Jeydon Moises (Wai, Gr. 12), Jacob Andres (Kau, Gr. 12), Kawika Kupihea (Kap, Gr. 10)
  • Catcher: Pierce Rosario (Kap, Gr. 9)
  • Pitcher: Kapono Sullivan (Kau, Gr. 12)
  • Utility: Iden Kaui-Reconsal (Kap, Gr. 11), Sean Jardin (Wai, Gr. 10)
