The Judicial Selection Commission has nominated candidates for positions on the Intermediate Court of Appeals and the Circuit Court of the First Circuit in Hawaii. The vacancies come as a result of Judge Lisa Ginoza’s elevation to associate justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court, as well as vacancies left by Judge Shanlyn Park and the anticipated departure of Judge Dean Ochiai.
The nominees for the Intermediate Court of Appeals include James Ashford, Lance Collins, Daniel Gluck, Nickolas Kacprowski, and Karen Nakasone. For the Circuit Court of the First Circuit, nominees include Earl Aquino, Russ Awakuni, Lance Collins, Harvey Demetrakopoulos, Timothy Ho, Karin Holma, Taryn Gifford, and Rochelle Vidinha.
Governor Josh Green has until April 16 to make his appointments from the lists provided by the commission, and the public is encouraged to provide comments on the nominees via the governor’s website.
