Following Wilson’s death, Southern University and A&M College suspended all membership intake for student organizations, and the Omega Psi Phi fraternity chapter on campus was ordered to cease all activities. Wilson, who was majoring in mechanical engineering and a member of the university’s marching band, was remembered as a gifted trumpet player and a bright individual by his family, friends, and community. The Caleb Wilson Foundation has been established to support his family, and services in his honor are planned for this week.
