Kauai High School boys basketball team, the Central Pacific Bank Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions, is gearing up to compete in the Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division II state championships on Wednesday in Oahu. After securing the No. 2 seed, the Red Raiders will face Hawaii Preparatory Academy in the quarterfinals at Kalani High School. If successful, they will move on to the semifinals against either Aiea or Le Jardin Academy. The championship match is set for Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center. Seabury Hall, Kaiser High School, Kohala High School, and Damien Memorial High School are also competing in the Division II bracket.
On the other hand, Division I play started on Monday, with Saint Louis as the top seed. Kailua High School, Kamehameha Schools-Hawaii, and Baldwin High School are also in the mix.
