The Mountain West Conference has announced the matchups for the upcoming 2025 football season, which will feature farewell games against the five outgoing teams before they move to the Pac-12 Conference in 2026. Hawaii will play four of these teams at home, with dates and times yet to be determined.
Due to the breakdown of talks with the Pac-12, the Mountain West will have eight conference games for each team in 2025. Hawaii’s schedule includes all four of their perpetual trophy games, as well as nonconference matchups against Stanford, Arizona, Sam Houston, and Portland State.
Notably, Hawaii will not face Boise State, New Mexico, or Nevada in the regular season, potentially ending their longest-running annual series with Nevada at 25 years. The Rainbow Warriors’ longest consecutive series against Fresno State was ended at 31 games in 2023, with UNLV set to become their new longest-running opponent with a 17th straight meeting in 2025.
This upcoming season will mark the second time that all four of Hawaii’s perpetual trophy games will be played, with only one being contested in 2024. With matchups set and anticipation building, football fans in Hawaii and across the Mountain West Conference can look forward to an exciting and memorable season ahead.
