Gary Pacheco was thanked for inviting attendees to the Kilauea Kalikimaka event, which benefited a group working to improve the Plantation Park. The event featured fundraising items, including Kilauea Sugar shirts and CDs by the Kilauea Social Club. Lareina Kamalani, Larisa Nebre, and Laurie Sadanaga have been making noodles for Kilauea Noodle Co. since 2015. The event also included a distribution of wristbands by Terri Kaniho and her Gather Federal Credit Union ohana.
Shelley Paik of Kauai Island Utility Company was busy decorating for the event, despite the rain. The North Shore Lions, of which Gary is a member, were recognized for being part of the Kilauea community. The event included hot cocoa and was attended by former mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr., Sen. Lynn DeCoite, and Stephanie Iona.
