Mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey have sparked an investigation by state and federal officials. The sightings have been reported in various counties, including Hunterdon, Monmouth, and Ocean, as well as in Philadelphia-area townships like Cherry Hill and Evesham. Law enforcement agencies are working together to determine the origin of the drones and have stated that they pose no known threat to public safety.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has joined the investigation after a long list of sightings, including reports of a cluster of drones and a possible fixed-wing aircraft flying along the Raritan River. The FBI, along with the New Jersey State Police and the State Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, are asking for information related to the sightings.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a temporary flight restriction banning drone flights over certain areas in New Jersey, including Trump National Golf Club Bedminster and Picatinny Arsenal military research facility.
Local residents have reported seeing the drones for several weeks, causing some concern despite assurances from officials that there is no current threat. Witnesses are encouraged to report any sightings to the FBI and submit tips and video footage on their website.
One witness, Jonelle Ferentinos, expressed her unease after seeing the drones multiple times while out for nightly dog walks. She described seeing up to five drones flying around her neighborhood, with some hovering and moving in different directions. The investigation into the mysterious drone sightings in New Jersey continues as officials work to determine their origin.
