Marcus Greene, in his first start for UH, contributed 17 points, while Gytis Nemeiksa and Akira Jacobs, also making their first starts for Hawaii, added 14 and 11 points respectively.
With this win, Long Beach State improved to 2-0 in Big West play after losing eight of their nine non-conference games. Hawaii now stands at 5-3 overall and 0-1 in the Big West. Their next Big West game is scheduled for January 2 against UC Santa Barbara. The victory marked a turning point for Long Beach State, signaling their potential to compete in the Big West conference.
