Newbury Park, Calif. – A tragic incident unfolded at Newbury Park High School as Zuberi Sharp, a 24-year-old man, was arrested for the killing of his teenage brother, 15-year-old Zayde Keohohou. The attack took place inside a Newbury Park home, where Keohohou was found with blunt force trauma to the head, possibly caused by an ax. Despite efforts to save him, Keohohou died on the way to the hospital. Sharp was later apprehended on the football field of Newbury Park High School, where students were present for after-school activities.
The motive behind the brutal attack remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing. Sharp’s father, Calvin Sharp, is currently serving time in prison for an unrelated murder, involving the chase and killing of a 6-year-old boy with a meat cleaver in 2007. Zuberi Sharp is his son and not the father of Keohohou.
Family members of Keohohou expressed gratitude for the support and prayers they have received from friends and the community. A GoFundMe account has been set up to assist Zayde’s family during this difficult time. Authorities are seeking any video footage of the suspect fleeing the scene for further information on the case.
Despite the tragic circumstances surrounding this incident, the Newbury Park community has come together to support the grieving family and honor the memory of Zayde Keohohou. Further updates on the case will be provided as the investigation progresses.
