Records confirm that Harris campaign paid Oprah’s company $1 million

The latest campaign finance report confirms that Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign paid Oprah Winfrey’s production company $1 million for their work on a livestream rally in September. Initially, there were rumors that Winfrey was paid for her endorsement of Harris, but Winfrey denied receiving any money for her support. She clarified that her company was paid for providing set design, lights, cameras, crew, and producers for the event, which aimed to register people to vote in swing states. Harris’ campaign also paid other production firms and advertising agencies millions of dollars in their unsuccessful bid to win the 2024 presidential election. The campaign spent additional money on television and digital advertisements, as well as a 90-second ad on the outside of the Las Vegas Sphere. The spending by Harris’ campaign is now being scrutinized as Democrats try to understand why she lost and where her campaign went wrong. It is noted that companies like Harpo Productions are not legally allowed to donate to political campaigns, and must be reimbursed or paid for their services. The campaign finance report sheds light on some of the financial decisions made by Harris’ team during the 2024 election cycle.
