Inouye and Ilagan Chosen for Fellowship

Hawaii Senate majority whip Lorraine Inouye and state House Vice Speaker Greggor Ilagan have been selected to take part in the prestigious 2024 Council of State Governments Henry Toll Fellowship in Lexington, Ky. The fellowship brings together 49 legislators and state officials from 34 states for a five-day leadership boot camp that includes personal assessments, leadership development activities, and networking opportunities.

Inouye expressed her gratitude for being chosen for the fellowship, emphasizing the importance of engaging and networking with government officials nationwide to better serve constituents. Ilagan, also honored by the selection, highlighted the opportunity to exchange ideas with fellow leaders to enhance policy development and government performance.

Founded in 1933 by former Colorado state senator Henry Toll, the fellowship has seen over 1,400 state officials complete the program, including speakers, justices, members of Congress, governors, and legislators. CSG Executive Director/CEO David Adkins praised Toll Fellows for their commitment to problem-solving, collaboration, and using state government as a force for good.

This is a significant achievement for both Hawaii Island representatives, as they join a select group of leaders dedicated to improving the lives of their constituents. The experience gained from the fellowship will undoubtedly contribute to their continued efforts to serve the people of Hawaii.
