Drones the size of cars seen near Trump’s New Jersey golf club

The FBI is currently investigating reports of mysterious “car-sized” drones flying across North Jersey at night, prompting concerns due to their proximity to President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf course and Picatinny Arsenal. Witness accounts of the drones have circulated on social media platforms like TikTok, sparking public interest in the issue.

The drones have been spotted hovering in formation over various areas in northern New Jersey since mid-November. Reports of drone activity have been filed in Morris, Somerset, and Warren Counties, with sightings also reported in Hunterdon, Monmouth, and Sussex Counties. The drones have been seen hovering over critical infrastructure such as water reservoirs, electric transmission lines, and police departments.

Law enforcement agencies, including the FBI and Morris County Sheriff’s Department, are actively investigating the drone activity but have not reached any conclusions yet. Authorities have stated that while the drones are not believed to pose a safety threat at the moment, they are taking the sightings seriously. Flight restrictions have been implemented in response to the drone activity, with temporary bans in place near the Solberg-Hunterdon County Airport above Trump Bedminster and over the Picatinny Arsenal.

The FAA has warned drone pilots against endangering aircraft or people and violating flight restrictions, as they could face penalties such as certification revocation or fines up to $75,000. Anyone with information about the drone sightings is urged to contact the FBI to assist in the ongoing investigation.
