Maui family seeking laulima support while navigating grief

A Maui family is navigating through grief while still remaining active in their community and taking care of others. Mom and Dad work full-time, have two children, and recently moved into Dad’s parent’s home to care for them after his father’s fall and broken hips. In addition to dealing with the loss of her best friend and grandmother to cancer, Mom’s father has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and had a stroke, leaving him paralyzed on one side. Despite all these challenges, the family also cares for two nephews and volunteers in their community, showing strength in their faith.

Their nine-year-old daughter enjoys dress-up, fun nails, and cheering on her brother at games, while their 13-year-old son loves football and the outdoors. The nephews have interests in video games, diving, and fishing gear. Dad would appreciate a gas grill, and Mom would enjoy a spa day or a trip to the hair salon. Treating Dad’s mom to movie vouchers and a family dinner out would be a special treat for her.

In the spirit of laulima, or many hands working together, the community is encouraged to support this family by visiting the Laulima Giving Program’s website and selecting “Adopt A Family” with the family code M240060-8. By coming together, we can bring some joy to this family who continues to give so much despite their grief.
