The University of Hawai’i football team has announced the signing of 13 prospects for the Class of 2025 during the early signing period. The 2025 class includes nine high school prospects and four junior college transfers, with seven signees on the defensive side of the ball and six on offense. Six signees are from the state of Hawai’i, including top prospects WR Titan Lacaden, LB Zaden Mariteragi, LB Aisiah Paogofie, and OL Jordan Kernaghan. The team also added players from Nevada high schools, including national champion Bishop Gorman HS.
The team has recruited cornerbacks from the junior college route to replace the graduating players. The signings include Zavier Fairley, Elijah Gipson, and TJ Jones. Quarterback Jarret “JJ” Nielsen and safety Julian “Juju” Smith have family connections to former UH players. Defensive lineman Falelua Moalele from American Samoa and offensive lineman Uluaki Taukiuvea from Utah are set to bolster the team’s roster.
Each player has a detailed background, including stats from their high school and junior college careers. For example, WR Titan Lacaden was named KHON2’s Cover2 Offensive Player of the Year and LB Zaden Mariteragi was a top linebacker in Hawai’i. QB Jarret “JJ” Nielsen set Moore League records for passing yards and total offense. Overall, the diverse signings showcase the team’s commitment to recruiting talent from various regions and backgrounds, setting the stage for an exciting future for the Rainbow Warriors’ football program.
