Ewa Beach native Tua Tagovailoa led the Miami Dolphins in a Thanksgiving game against the Green Bay Packers, where despite his strong performance, the Dolphins lost 30-17, snapping their three-game winning streak. Tagovailoa completed 36 of 45 passes for 357 yards, two touchdowns, and no interceptions. The loss dropped the Dolphins’ record to 5-7, while the Packers improved to 9-3.
With five regular season games remaining, the Dolphins are still in contention for a wild card berth, but have little room for error. Their next game is against the New York Jets on December 8, with kickoff set for 8 a.m. HST.
The game showcased Tagovailoa’s talent and ability to lead the Dolphins’ offense, but ultimately the team was unable to overcome the Packers’ strong performance. The Dolphins will need to regroup and refocus in order to secure an opportunity for postseason play. Fans of the Hawaii native will be watching closely as he continues to make his mark in the NFL. Stay tuned to Hawaii’s sports station for all the latest updates on Tagovailoa and the Dolphins as they push forward in the remainder of the season.
