The Gaza Strip has been under attack by Israeli military forces, targeting residential buildings, public facilities, and infrastructure. At least nine members of a family were killed in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The Israeli military operation seeks to expand the Netzarim Corridor, dividing northern and southern Gaza. Witnesses reported many civilians inside targeted homes.
In northern Gaza, Israeli jets conducted air raids, killing at least four people in Beit Lahiya. In the south, four people were killed by Israeli drones in Abasan. The UN accused Israel of denying aid delivery to northern Gaza, with 82 out of 91 attempts blocked between October and November. The situation in the territory, under siege and constant bombardment, is dire for the remaining 65,000-75,000 people.
Israel’s military operations have killed thousands of Palestinians and wounded many others. Efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza, involving the US, Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar, are ongoing. US President Joe Biden stated that they will work towards a ceasefire with the release of hostages and without Hamas in power. Meanwhile, a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah took effect in a separate conflict.
The situation in Gaza remains tense, with civilian casualties and aid blockages worsening the humanitarian crisis. The international community, led by the US, is working towards a ceasefire to end the violence and bring relief to the people of Gaza.
