Road Closures Scheduled for Kekaha as Resurfacing Work Begins
Kekaha, Hawaii — Starting early next week, road closures will take place in the Westside region as part of a scheduled road resurfacing project. The Department of Public Works (DPW) and its contractor, Maui Kupono Builders, have announced a one-lane closure impacting several key roads, including Aukuu Road, Akepa Road, and Mamo Road.
The closures will be in effect from Monday through Wednesday, between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and to allow extra travel time, as flaggers will be on site to manage traffic flow through the work zones.
While area residents will be granted partial access during these closures, they are reminded that parking will be prohibited within the designated work areas. The roadwork is contingent on weather conditions, and all efforts will be made to minimize disruption.
For additional information, community members are encouraged to contact Maui Kupono Builders directly at 808-369-1800 or reach out to Todd Ozaki of the DPW at 808-241-4845.
These improvements are part of ongoing efforts by the DPW to enhance road safety and infrastructure on the Westside, contributing to better travel conditions for residents and visitors alike. Updates on the project and any changes to the schedule will be communicated to the public as they arise.
