Search Continues for Missing Hawaii Woman in Los Angeles
HONOLULU (KHON2) — The family of Hannah Kobayashi, a 31-year-old woman from Maui, continues to search for her after her last known cellphone location was traced to Los Angeles International Airport nine days ago. Disturbing new developments have emerged regarding her disappearance, which has heightened concerns among her loved ones.
Family members revealed that authorities shared a video of Hannah, taken on the evening of November 11, shortly before her disappearance. Although the footage has not been made public due to the ongoing investigation, Hannah’s aunt, Larie Pidgeon, reported that it shows Hannah exiting a subway station close to the Crypto.com Arena around 10 p.m. Importantly, the video reveals Hannah was accompanied by an unidentified individual in an area that raised alarms for her family.
"We’re terrified; it brought her father to tears," Pidgeon stated, addressing the unsettling nature of the video. In their effort to locate Hannah, several family members have traveled to Los Angeles, engaging with the community in hopes of gathering leads.
To enhance awareness, the family plans to hold a rally on November 21 to distribute flyers near the Crypto.com Arena, coinciding with a Lakers game. "It’s all we can do. We want as many eyes as possible in the area where she was last seen," Pidgeon explained. They are also striving to display Hannah’s information on the event’s Jumbotron to reach a larger audience.
The LAPD is leading the investigation into Hannah’s disappearance, with assistance from the FBI as needed. The family is urging anyone with information about Hannah’s whereabouts to contact the LAPD.
