In an impressive Homecoming victory, the University of Hawai’i football team defeated Nevada 34-13, led by quarterback Brayden Schager’s remarkable performance. Schager ran for a career-high 120 yards and four touchdowns, setting a program record for rushing scores by a quarterback. This win not only gave Hawai’i their first conference victory of the season but also ended a three-game losing streak.
The Rainbow Warriors achieved a total of 242 rushing yards, their best performance since 2022, and totaled 395 yards of offense. Schager’s exceptional play, along with running back Landon Sims’ contributions, propelled the team to success. The defense also played a crucial role, stopping Nevada on multiple occasions and forcing turnovers.
Schager’s performance marked historical moments for the UH football program, tying the record for quarterback rushing touchdowns and becoming the first UH quarterback to rush for over 100 yards since 2020. The win was significant not only for Schager but also for the entire team, showcasing their resilience and determination.
With this victory, Hawai’i looks forward to their next game against Fresno State, hoping to carry the momentum from this win. The team’s strong performance against Nevada has boosted morale and provided a much-needed confidence boost as they continue their season. #HawaiiFB.
