Lydgate Campground to Undergo Rehabilitation Closure
LIHUE, HI — The Department of Parks and Recreation (DOPR) announced that Lydgate Campground will close for approximately two weeks to facilitate essential rehabilitation and maintenance of the facilities. The closure is set to begin on Tuesday, November 12, and will last until noon on Thursday, November 21.
DOPR officials have emphasized the importance of this closure, stating it allows for thorough cleaning and vital maintenance improvements to be conducted. The move aims to enhance the camping experience for visitors while ensuring that the site remains safe and well-maintained.
For those with active camping permits during the closure period, the DOPR will reach out directly to assist in swapping permits for other available campgrounds within the county. Alternatively, refunds will be provided to those who prefer not to rebook for a different location.
