Community Climate Fair Set to Inspire Local Action in Lihue
LIHUE — The Kukui Grove Center, in collaboration with the Hawaii State Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation Commission, is excited to announce the inaugural Community Climate Fair this Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kukui Grove Shopping Center. This free, family-friendly event marks a significant opportunity for Kauai residents to engage directly with initiatives addressing climate change.
Attendees will find interactive booths showcasing various state, county, and community efforts aimed at mitigating climate impacts. “It is important to incorporate the voices of all communities in the co-development of our Climate Action Pathways, and we are excited to bring this fair to Kauai,” stated Leah Laramee, the CCMAC coordinator. This fair aims to foster dialogue and exchange of ideas among participants, making local voices heard in the climate action process.
The Community Climate Fair will also facilitate networking opportunities for volunteers interested in participating in future initiatives such as beach cleanups and native reforestation.
