Press Release: Community Mourns Loss of Two Kauai Residents
Kauai, HI – The community of Kauai is in mourning as it pays tribute to two beloved residents who recently passed away.
Herbert T. Miyasaki, aged 79, died on October 23, 2024, at Wilcox Medical Center. Born on January 2, 1945, in Lihue, Herbert served in the U.S. Army and made significant contributions as an electrical contractor. He is survived by his devoted wife, Jessie Miyazaki, and their children: Ryan (Tiffany Riopta), Jason (Tori), Shelly (Daryl Gerardo), and Tammy (Adrian Puu). Herbert also leaves behind six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a brother, a sister, and numerous extended family members. His family announces a service on November 23, 2024, at the Garden Island Mortuary in Lawai, with visitation beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 11 a.m. Casual attire is encouraged, and flowers are welcome.
In another loss, Todd Phillip Jebens passed away on August 31, 2024, at the age of 48. Born in Fairfield, California, on April 4, 1976, Todd’s legacy lives on through his son, Cian Jebens. He is also survived by his father, Edd Cook, and sisters Erin Hoff and Evangeline Remillard. A celebration of life will take place at Lydgate Park on November 2, 2024, commencing at 11 a.m.
Both families are being assisted by Garden Island Mortuary during this difficult time. The community is invited to come together to honor the memories of Herbert Miyasaki and Todd Jebens and support their grieving families.
