Sources say Liam Payne had multiple drugs, including ‘pink cocaine,’ in his system at the time of his death.

International pop star Liam Payne’s tragic death at the age of 31 is shedding light on the dangers of substance abuse. Toxicology test results revealed that the former One Direction singer had multiple substances in his system when he fell to his death from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 16. The substances found in Payne’s system included “pink cocaine,” methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack. An improvised aluminum pipe for ingesting drugs was also found in his hotel room.

Prior to his death, hotel officials had called authorities for urgent assistance due to Payne’s intoxicated state. When authorities arrived, Payne’s body was discovered in the inner courtyard of the hotel. A preliminary autopsy report stated that Payne died from “multiple traumas” and “internal and external bleeding” caused by the fall.

The Buenos Aires Security Ministry confirmed that multiple substances and broken objects were found in Payne’s hotel room. A hotel employee suspected of providing Payne with drugs on the day of his death has been interviewed by officials, but no charges have been filed at this time.

Payne’s body will remain in Argentina until the autopsy is complete. The tragic incident has prompted calls for increased awareness of mental health and substance abuse issues.
