William Balbin of Lovelea expressed that it is acceptable to refer to Filipino Americans as “Fil Am,” as they used to be called. Balbin, along with many other vendors, participated in the Kauai Filipino American History Month event, offering a variety of goods to locals. Lovelea will be present at the K+M Market on Saturday before the Kukui Grove Movie Night.
The Las Vegas trip sponsored by HawaiiUSA Federal Credit Union was a part of the festivities at the Kauai Filipino American History Month celebration. Additionally, the Kauai Visayan Club 23rd International Costume Ball, benefiting Kumu’s Cupboard, is set to take place on October 26th at the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort, with tickets available for purchase in advance.
Julie Demond of Jules of Da Aina is looking forward to the end of the Kauai Filipino American History Month event, as it will allow her to prepare for the Kauai Chocolate Festival at Kilohana on Sunday. She also expressed excitement for winning tickets to the festival for her son to enjoy. The event is anticipated to feature Will Lydgate and Lydgate Farms.
