Kauai emerges victorious over Indiana High School in air riflery competition


The Kauai High School air rifle team achieved their highest score of the season, defeating Indiana High School in the 2004 National Sporter Air Rifle League. Led by Andrew Sadamitsu, the Red Raiders secured a score of 1,108.3 to 257.4, marking their second consecutive win in the league. Currently ranked first in the Elite Division, the team also holds the top spot in the Junior Rifle Club Conference with a 2-0 record.

On the other hand, Indiana High School saw their best team score of the season, with Gavin Dicken leading the pack with a score of 267.4. The team from Pennsylvania is currently ranked 111 with an 0-1 record. Kauai High School is set to face Fontana High School MCJROTC from California, while Indiana High School will compete against Redmond MCJROTC from Oregon.

The National Sporter Air Rifle League features a 8-week regular season followed by a post season, with the top teams competing in the Champions Division for the league championships. The league utilizes a Three-Position Air Rifle match format, with athletes shooting from kneeling, prone, and standing positions. The league is sponsored by Scopos, known for the Orion Scoring System and the Athena Electronic Scoring Target System.
