59-year-old moped rider in critical condition following crash in McCully


A 59-year-old man has been hospitalized in critical condition following a moped versus motor vehicle collision in McCully, Hawaii. The crash occurred at the intersection of South King Street and Isenberg Street on Saturday afternoon. The moped rider ran a red light while traveling southbound on Isenberg Street and collided with a female driver traveling eastbound on South King Street. The moped operator, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, was taken to the hospital while the female driver sustained minor injuries and declined further treatment at the scene. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The Honolulu Emergency Medical Services responded to the crash shortly after 3:15 p.m. and transported the injured man to the hospital.
